Where in the world is...?

I offer no acceptable reasons for my absence, but do ask for forgiveness. Like most of my friends out there my training has been pretty miserable. My summer has been packed and has left little time for my running. I have managed to get some training in and with my half marathon only a week away I am marginally prepared. But, the cooler weather has arrived and the running is getting better. I have an alternate plan for this winter and will share that in a future blog.

I just arrived home from a weekend in Breckenridge Colorado. The photos I offer this post are all from the area. This was a weekend for getting the ATVs out. For the sake of my friend Charles, we were on the Wise Mountain /Radical Hill Loop. This was a great ride that took us to 12,600 feet in elevation.

The wife and I enjoyed the wonderful views at the top of this fun ride. We had perfect weather with sunny skies and moderate temperatures. we shared the ride with our close friends and this will be our last camping trip for the summer.

There was a mishap however and the photos below show the aftermath.

This is a good news / bad news story. The good news is that the young man (21) who was riding this machine is fine and only suffered a slight bruise when he flipped the ATV into a creek. The bad news is this is my wife's ATV.

Until next time...

Hey Cory - good to see you back with us. Plans are made to be changed and you're a runner for life, not just for this season so can't wait to hear what's happening next for you. Take care and get back into the saddle..

Wow! We talked about driving Radical Hill/Wise mountain on Saturday! We opted for Red Elephant hill trail instead. We had a couple of moments of terror/ecstacy ourselves. The passenger side of the trail had worn away and was not visible until you turned into it.

We found out the hard way! I felt the Jeep camber toward a cusp where one was not sure if gravity identified down as at my feet or at my right elbow. It is a terrible moment to experience! The driver was able to turn into the hill and gun it just enough to keep the rubber side down!

Going back country acn be a lot of fun, but it can be hazardous! I'm glad that everybody is OK. The equipment can always be repaired! Not fun but the best outcome!

Thanks for sharing the fun from your weekend! You'd still run circles around me at the competition!

Welcome back, Cory!

Sounds like you've been having fun in the great outdoors. I was worried you might be laid up in bed still suffering from the back pain. Glad that was not the case!

Can you please send some cooler weather to Florida? We could use some!

Welcome back my friend!

Sorry to see the damage to your wife's ATV. At least there were no serious injuries.

I'm sure you'll do great at your half! I'm looking forward to reading your race report :: and your plans for what's next!

Is there a need to replace your wife's atv warn winch? If so, better purchase one with long lasting quality.
